Learning in Action in 2nd Grade! Mrs. Garner’s second grade class has been busy learning all about procedural text—and they did it the fun way! Students followed a recipe and step-by-step instructions they wrote in class to make their very own homemade play dough. This hands-on activity helped them see how important clear directions are while learning and having fun at the same time. #MageeElementary #HandsOnLearning #ProceduralText #TrojanPride

Learning was measuring up to be lots of fun in Mrs. Kemp’s first grade class! 🧡 Students enjoyed hands-on learning as they practiced measuring using centimeter blocks. Activities like this help build strong math skills while keeping students engaged and excited. Way to go, first graders!

We love seeing learning come to life at Magee Elementary! 🧡 Some of our second grade students have been hard at work building three-dimensional figures using cubes, marshmallows, and toothpicks. Hands-on activities like these help students deepen their understanding of geometry while having fun. Way to build, think, and create!

All Simpson County School District schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 26, 2026, due to winter weather, extremely low temperatures, and unsafe travel conditions. The safety of our students, staff, and families is our top priority. 

The district will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates regarding school operations for Tuesday, January 27, 2026, through official communication channels including text messages, the SCSD mobile app, SCSD social media pages, and the district website at www.simpson.k12.ms.us.

Magee Elementary appreciates our special guest, Miss Mississippi, for visiting our school! She read a story to our younger Trojans and had an impactful conversation with our older students about the effects of tobacco. We are thankful for her positive influence and for investing in our students.
